Scale and Fouling Scale and Chiller Efficiency Effect of Microbiological Film Effect of Scale on Energy Consumption Clean Condensers Conserve Energy

Scale and Fouling Deposits in
Contenders During Heat Exchange Process

  1. Water used in air conditioning contains soluble salts.
  2. During aeration in the cooling tower, the water picking up air borne dust
    and microscopic plant matter.
  3. The soluble salts deposits as scale in the condenser tubes during the heat
exchange process. Dust and microscopic plant matter also tend to deposit
as sediment and biological film in the condenser tubes. Collectively
sediment and biological film are known as fouling.
